Here I will add some movie reviews when I can. Don't hold your breath because there won't be any promises made for regular updates, however if I make an update I will put in a PS at the bottom of that day's discussion topic.

I cried and cried so many times watching this movie.
It's based on true events from the book of the same name by written by Betty Mahmoody. A Michigan mother, wife of an Iranian, finds herself 'on a holiday' with her husband in Tehran. Her husband, Moody, is a doctor in America but is harassed constantly by the other doctors in the hospital. After ten happily married years Moody convinces Betty to go to visit his family whom he hasn't seen in ten years. Of course Betty is afraid to go because of the events happening at the time in Iran. Reluctantly she follows her husband and finds herself in his absolute possession with no rights whatsoever. She can leave the country sure but only if she leaves her daughter there. It is quite a traumatic experience just watching the movie I couldn't begin to imagine how it would feel to be in the Betty's position. The sad thing is that Betty's story isn't the only one of its kind. There is times throughout the movie where you are on the edge of your seat thinking 'omg' and others where the tears will roll, and yet others that make you want to shoot the damn husband! It's a must see if you like tear jerkers, as most true stories are, this one will need a Kleenex or ten! Despite constant beatings and abuse from the family she makes it somehow out of the country safe on 'American soil' over the border. Leaves one with so many mixed emotions, and wishing it isn't like that anymore.
