Pinned woman tried to cut leg off - bravery award

Story here

Wow what a terrible thing to endure :( This story caught my eye because I know a lady who lives in Tumut so I read the story and thought - wow this woman is amazing! to survive three days and try to amputate your own leg? A much stronger woman than I would be. She deserves all the best in life! and the boy who found her and called for help deserves an award of some sort too. What a good kid.

Our country is awesome and it's stories like this that make me proud to be an Aussie!

Today is a beautiful day so I thought a hard story with a happy ending would be just the thing :)

Dead beat parents trying to leave the country

STAY AND PAY

I think parents that can afford to go overseas can afford to pay their child support!
BUT I am not biased on this (see I only get $18 of child support a fortnight to raise my THREE children! but that might be because the idiot that pays it has 4 or 5 other kids he has to pay for out of his dole) and there are a lot of greedy lying mothers out there too that harass the dads who are trying to do the right thing.

If a parent is a TRUE dead beat then to me that means that he won't even work in the first place! let alone help pay to raise the kids. Dead beat doesn't mean he has an awesome paying job and can't afford to pay the $25,000 a month anymore...

to quote the article:
Armstrong Legal family law division head Peter Magee explained global economic uncertainty might be behind the increase in more serious cases, where bans were imposed on repeat offenders.

He said this was particularly the case among wealthy separated parents relying on overseas income who were now struggling.

"I have been involved in cases where someone has entered into a child support agreement during prosperous times but then times change and the $25,000 a month the mother wanted is no longer possible," he said.

struggling? they wouldn't know 'struggling' if it slapped them in the face! Struggling is when you spend a Christmas without even FOOD for your children because they REAL DEADBEAT dad wouldn't get a job. Struggling is not being ab;e to pay the $200 a week rent (that's right $200 not $2000 a week!) struggling my ass! Struggling is not even earning $25,000 a YEAR let alone scabbing it from your ex every MONTH!! bitch, get your own job!

That'a my gripe for today...well for this morning....

Iranian woman sentenced to be stoned to death may be hanged instead
well gee that's a relief! pfft. She doesn't deserve to die period!

This one really made me think "what the fuck?"

Talk about full on. How odd the laws are in different countries. Here in Australia you get more time for lesser crimes than some pedophiles (source of an example of terms for one case of pedophilia in Australia

I cannot believe that women have absolutely no rights in Iran. Have you ever watched the movie 'Not without my Daughter' (in the movies tab above I wrote up a review on it) - I will never forget the one scene where the woman says to Betty, after she says she is an American, she has an American passport and was born there, "Are you married to an Iranian?" she asks. Betty answers "yes" ... "then you are Iranian" simple as that. No more rights, at all EVER.

Since when is it ok to stone a person for adultery? Why can't we stone those filthy pedophiles here in Australia? OHHHHHH that's right, because it's INHUMANE!! pedophilia is a much more valid reason to stone someone IMO because it is just as inhumane.

Thou shalt not kill? ok... what about an eye for an eye? Really and truly laws should be reviewed in most countries. I hate the fact that clear criminals that have committed heinous crimes get a 'fair trial' . Their victims didn't get a 'fair chance' why should the perpetrators get another chance at life? they are oxygen thieves.

Back to the original article, the Iranian woman. Now they say she was seen as an accessory to the murder of her husband... well shame that she finally had enough of being beaten daily and did something about it. My guess is that's what happened, and I don't blame her! It's a sad sad world we live in. And what is even more sad is that these Iranian mongrels come to other countries and suck women in just like Betty Mahmoody.
Mohammad Javad Larijani, secretary-general of the Iranian High Council for Human Rights, argued in December that stoning should not be classified as a method of execution but rather a method of punishment which is actually more "lenient" because half of the people survive, the UN quoted him as saying.
WHAT THE???

what do you think how do you feel about this one?

First blog discussion - Bali tattoo likely caused HIV in patient

HIV from tattoo in Bali

OK WTF? So someone contracted HIV in Bali from getting a tattoo. BULLSHIT!

Indonesian officials said last year that the number of known HIV/AIDS cases on Bali was soaring, with one in four prostitutes reported to be HIV-positive and the number of infections jumping almost 19 percent from the year before.

PROSTITUTES! Guy gets drunk, get s a tattoo, fucks a prostitute comes home with HIV. THEN blames the tattoo?? what the hell. If someone wants to enlighten me then please go ahead.

OR

A guy (or girl) gets a tattoo from someone NOT wearing gloves, NOT using sterile needles.... simply described? an idiot! There has been many many debates over tattoos - from the whole biblical point of view to the ones who are simply refusing to accept people with tattoos, and a plethora of other arguments about it.

In this day and age with all the available access to information, one would think that you would be smart enough NOT to get a tattoo shop from a dodgy looking place, right? I thought we had less idiots in the world but alas it seems they're still there walking among us with their heads up their asses. Or was it intentional because they had nothing to live for anyways, so a bit of 'compensation cash' would be good? I should hope not!

There is no way someone could contract the HIV virus from someone giving them a tattoo that was wearing gloves and using sterile (and most tattooists these days do not reuse needles - each new customer gets a brand spanking new needle from a sterile packet, opened in front of the customer to prove it is sterile) even if the tattooist had the virus! it is a BLOOD-BORNE virus, which means it is contracted through bodily fluids - be it blood, saliva or *ahem* reproductive fluids(lol) .

If you asked for my personal opinion the person who contracted it should have done their research better. We are all able to make our own decisions. This person made the decision to go into a dirty tattoo shop to be tattooed... no way could it happen in a clean shop.

My husband and I have a friend who owns two tattoo shops in Bali and he is very VERY big on hygiene and uses brand new needles and gloves and for each and every client, each and every time they sit in his chair. It really gets my goat that now his shops are in jeopardy (and all the other ones that are doing the right thing!) because of this one idiot being placed in the limelight. The media has got people pumped "don't get a tatt in Bali you could get HIV" pfft. Don't believe the hype - just don't be a fuckwit - check out the joint first. I HATE that so many shops in Bali will suffer now because of this. HATE how the media generalises everything.

So the article says 'All the evidence points to a tattoo received recently in Bali as being the source of the infection," Western Australia's Department of Health said in a statement dated Friday.

"This case demonstrates the very real health risk in having this type of procedure done overseas"
OK, so this brings me back to my point of doing research first. Do Doctors that work with HIV patients gets HIV? well, no...they wear gloves and take other precautions. This is what most tattoo shops do too... take precautions, not only to protect themselves but to protect their valued customers. I would like to know more about how the evidence points to it being the tattooing that caused the HIV. If anyone has any links please do share them. It interests me.

So, that's today's discussion. Feel free to join in :) (I realise this is a new blog and possibly won't get comments until more people know about this blog, but all the same, feel free to join in at any time :) )
